Per Erik Bergh

Per Erik has for over 30 years been working globally in the maritime and fisheries fields.

Per Erik’s main passion is fighting illegal fishing and assisting operational MCS staff to bring perpetrators to justice. He achieves this through his extensive global network and a long experience that started in the Norwegian coastguard. Per Erik has been involved in the development of the MCS element of fishery management plans for over 20 years, working in aspects ranging from training inspectors to supporting regional and international negotiations of fisheries instruments. Per Erik is also the Norwegian Consul General to Botswana.

Citizenship: Norwegian

Qualifications: Military Studies (Policy, Planning and Operations), Norwegian Naval Staff College and Academy, BSc Military Studies.

Other Training:  Fisheries inspector, IT related courses and workshops, management and project cycle training workshops, qualified teacher trainer, NATO Helicopter “B” operator, coastguard and fisheries management training courses, qualified diver, skipper.
