Fifth meeting of the FISH-i Africa Task Force

June 2016 - Per Erik Bergh (Managing Director), Sandy Davies (Technical Director), Kristín  v. Kistowski (Senior Advisor), Mark Ssemakula (Project Officer) and Sally Frankcom (Communications Officer) were in Mauritius on 14-16 June providing technical assistance at the 5th FISH-i Africa Task Force meeting.

The eight Task Force member countries of Comoros, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Seychelles, Somalia and Tanzania attended the meeting. Representatives from INTERPOL, SADC and Thailand joined the open sessions as observers and both the Indian Ocean Commission and Indian Ocean Tuna Commission attended as part of the Technical Team.

The Task Force continue to make progress in working cooperatively, sharing information and coordinating action against illegal fishing operators.
