Stop Illegal Fishing gains prestigious award

February 2014 - NFDS’s MD and Geofrey Nanyaro were proud to accept an award given to Stop Illegal Fishing at the IMCS Network's Stop IUU Fishing Award Contest. The award ceremony took place on the 20 February 2014 at the Fourth Global Fisheries Enforcement Training Workshop (GFETW) in Costa Rica. Geofrey and Per Erik were able to share the work and experiences of Stop Illegal Fishing with the other attendees and to thank key partners. Stop Illegal Fishing is the NEPAD's Working Group on illegal fishing and also a non-profit organisation.  It is tasked by African Governments to champion efforts to end the devastating impacts of illegal fishing across Africa, and in seven years it has made a major and unique contribution in Africa's efforts to overcome illegal fishing. - See more at: http://www.stopillegalfishing.com/sifnews_article.php?ID=117#sthash.z0X5m05B.dpuf
