Field work in Kenya, Tanzania and Mozambique to identify Regional MTC for fisheries

May 2015 – Peter Manning (NFDS Consultant) was in Kenya, Tanzania and Mozambique to work with national fisheries agencies in terms of developing recommendations and technical rationale to support Regional Minimum Terms and Conditions (MTC) for fisheries access arrangements, in respect to reference tonnage. NFDS Africa has been contracted by WWF Tanzania Country Office to undertake this work between March 2015 and June 2015 with the intention of assisting the countries of Kenya, Mozambique and Tanzania in developing a sound technical rationale in support of certain recommendations that were adopted at the Regional Meeting for Developing Regional MTC for fisheries access arrangements, held in 28th and 29th August 2014 in Maputo (Mozambique). The NFDS team consists of Sandy Davies and Peter Manning as key experts with support from Per Erik Bergh, Mark Ssemakula and Kosa Mukosa.
