Protecting the ‘Blue Gold’ of the Seychelles

December 2017 — Sandy Davies (Technical Director) represented the Stop Illegal Fishing Secretariat at an event in the Seychelles organized by the Sir James Mancham International Institute for Peace Studies and Diplomacy and the James Michel Blue Economy Research Institute (BERI) of the University of Seychelles.

The event, Stopping Illegal Fishing: Protecting the ‘Blue Gold’ of the Seychelles, brought together regional and international experts to discuss questions relating to the current regulatory system for fishing, enforcement and information sharing. Ms Davies presented the FISH-i Africa task force and linked their work and findings to the key issues being discussed.
