Andréa’s key area of expertise is in fisheries transparency and natural resources governance.
Andréa brings understanding and experience on issues of good governance in the fisheries sector, having worked with the Fisheries Transparency Initiative (FiTI) International Secretariat and the Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF) on promoting transparent and inclusive management in the sector. Andréa also worked for the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Côte d’Ivoire on advancing sustainability and innovations in food value chains, including in small-scale fisheries and aquaculture supply chains. Andréa’s interest in social entrepreneurship led her to support the Union of Women Fisheries’ Cooperatives in Côte d’Ivoire (USCOFEP-CI) as an advisor. Furthermore, Andréa is multilingually skilled – she can communicate and work in French, English, German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese, which along with her fisheries expertise and experience makes her a great addition to the NFDS team.
