Maya Bergh

Researcher

Maya’s main interest is exploring global policies and the implications these have – positive and negative – for Africa to achieve SDG 14 and sustainable fisheries.

Maya’s interest in international affairs developed through her experiences in the UN Youth Programme have provided a good start point for researching material and gathering evidence for policy formulation and review. Maya’s research skills are supporting NFDS’s work to understand how globally negotiated policies support or hinder African countries participation in legal, safe and fair fisheries.
