Regional minimum terms and conditions for fisheries access arrangements meeting

Regional minimum terms and conditions for fisheries access arrangements meeting

November 2017 — In 2015 Sandy Davies and Peter Manning prepared a report under contract to WWF through NFDS Africa on ‘A technical rationale for supporting certain recommendations adopted at the regional meeting for developing regional minimum terms and conditions for fisheries access arrangements, 28th and 29th August in Maputo, Mozambique.’ This report aimed to support the implementation of the Maputo Declaration for the three signatory parties of Kenya, Mozambique and the United Republic of Tanzania, in particular in respect to European Commission (EC) sustainable fisheries partnership agreements (SFPAs) and how the financial arrangements are calculated.

In November 2017, WWF contracted Sandy Davies to present this report for the first time to the three countries and to update the information, as far as possible, to support a meeting of the three countries, to be held in Victoria, Seychelles from 30th November to 1 December 2017.
