JD is an experienced criminal investigator who has spent over 25 years in law enforcement, and a further 9 years as an investigative consultant.
JD is a seasoned investigator who began his career in the South African Police Service and then joined the National Prosecuting Authority, before becoming a private consultant. He has a vast experience investigating various criminal matters, including organized international fishery crimes, which he puts to good use by supporting various cases as well as training investigators in how to deal with environmental crime.
JD appeared in the 2016 Animal Planet series Ocean Warriors, where his work tackling blast fishing with the Multi Agency Task Team in Tanzania is featured.

Qualifications: National Diploma in Police Administration Majoring in Criminal Law, Law of Criminal Procedure and Evidence and Investigation of Crime.
Other Training: Professional criminal and civil investigator, member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Computer Crimes Seminar for Investigators.
